Claire Elise Boucher is a Canadian musician, singer and songwriter from Canada. [2][3] The range of her earlier music is described as "lo fi R&B" and "futuristic dance-pop". She has also used elements of hip hop, electronic and rock. Her lyrics often touch on science-fiction themes as well as feminist themes. There have been five albums. The singer was born and raised in Vancouver (later making the move to Montreal), Grimes began independently releasing music from the mid-2000s onwards and released two albums, Geidi Primes as well as Halfaxa, in 2010 through Arbutus Records. The album was released in 2012 and Visions the third album she released on her studio. The band was signed to 4AD. Visions includes the singles "Genesis," and "Oblivion". Also, it was winner of the Juno Award of the Canadian Music Industry for Electronic Album of the Years. [5] Following this, the fourth album of her studio, Art Angels, was launched in the year of 2015 and earned the acclaim of critics, with several publications having named it the best album of the year. Miss Anthropocene was her fifth album. Grimes is an official judge of Alter Ego, a music contest. She also was part that of Cyberpunk 2077 2020 role-playing game.
